Welcome to The New Crown Inn Bath— your friendly, proper old-fashioned local pub. We proudly serve two fantastic real ales on tap: the rich and smooth 6X, and Bass, the locals’ favourite. Alongside these, enjoy a great selection of lagers, ciders, spirits, and soft drinks to suit every taste.
Step inside to enjoy a lively jukebox, a game of pool or darts, or simply relax in our welcoming spaces. Feeling peckish? We offer tasty bar snacks to keep you going. Our cosy, private beer garden is perfect for enjoying a drink outside, even if the weather’s damp—thanks to the under cover seating. Dogs are always welcome, and we even have dog treats on tap to keep your furry friends happy! We’re proud to welcome a warm mix of friendly locals from all walks of life.

Located in the heart of Bath’s bustling Newbridge suburb, we’re right at the top of Chelsea Road—a lively shopping street filled with charming cafés and a convenience store for all your essentials. The nearest bus stop is right outside our front door, so you can be in the centre of beautiful Bath within minutes. If you prefer to stretch your legs, a scenic 20-minute walk through Victoria Park and past the Royal Crescent will lead you into Bath city centre.

A bit of history
The New Crown Inn Bath has stood proudly on Newbridge Hill since 1878, built on the site of an earlier coaching inn that once served travellers between Bath and Bristol. The new building was part of a Victorian development that included ten villas, and it quickly became a central part of the local community. In 1897, John Beavis purchased the inn, though he sadly passed away just months later. His family continued to manage it into the early 20th century.
Over the years, The New Crown Inn Bath saw ownership pass through several breweries, including Georges of Bristol and Courage, before being taken on by regional and independent pub companies. Despite changes in management, it has remained a traditional, welcoming pub known for its character, community spirit, and even tales of hauntings.
